Art and Design for Advocacy Lab

March 17, 2016 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm

free/donation

All-day free workshop on using comics to change the world!

Art & Design for Advocacy Lab brings together young people, youth workers, activists educators and some truly amazing guest speakers to experiment and collaborate together to develop comics, zines or cartoons that gets their message out into the world.

Apathy, a lack of trust and low confidence to engage in civil society, particularly within marginalised groups, are still key problems in the United Kingdom. This two day hands on workshop aims to address these issues by engaging marginalised groups into playing a more active role in civil society and advocacy through Art.

The Lab is designed in an engaging and interactive way to provide people with an opportunity to understand the role of Art in raising awareness of the causes they care about, whilst developing critical thinking skills and tolerance of diverse views and other peoples’ opinions.
